Be positive in each moment. Change yourself. Change the world.
How many times do we rip ourselves apart with our own negative self-talk? We continually sabotage ourselves, the positive steps we want to make to improve ourselves and improve our lives. We put ourselves into these downward spirals of defeat and it gets harder and harder to lift ourselves up.
Give this some thought: one small positive step, anything, will begin the journey back to our healthy self. Don’t make the step hard. Choose one thing that helps; often it’s by helping one person with something they need. Look out – not in.
This recently happened to me. I was on another downward spiral but I kept posting positive, helpful things on Facebook. Then a message from someone close: “That really helped me.” And in the helping I found joy.
When you’re changing yourself for the better it may be difficult at times but it is always worth the effort. Others will notice and will encourage you. What they are unlikely to do is to stick around you when you’re negative and lashing out in anger or frustration.
The work we put into changing ourselves is worth it. And what happens when we begin changing ourselves for the better? Others notice it and you begin changing the world around you.
We sometimes wonder how we can change the world. But don’t think of the planet, think of the world as your community around you. Whether that means work, your neighborhood, or even your family, that is your world.
Take that step to change you and your “world” will change with you.
